Sponsor Spotlight: FitnessUWear #GetMoving2013

Banglz-ankle-weights
Style, meet Fitness.  I'm so glad that FitnessUWear has taken the time to introduce the two!  They have developed Banglz - wrist and ankle weights that are wearable in public.  They come in a variety of cute decorative sleeves so you can wear them with a variety of outfits!  Banglz come in 1/2 pound and 1 pound sets at an excellent price.  I have a set of wrist weights and a set of ankle weights.  I love them.  Some days I wear them around the house while doing normal tasks to give myself a little extra weight and push my body just a bit more than normal.  I definitely feel the difference in my body when I wear them!

Headbands- BLUEFIZPony Tail Holders- MEGA 9-Pack!
FitnessUWear also has a line of stylish hair products, designed to be gentle on the hair.  They hold your hair in place without doing damage to it.  These are colorful fabrics made of stretchy spandex materials.  They are perfect for working out.  I use some almost every day!

My favorite product made by FitnessUWear is their SimpleWear line.  These fantastic skirts, shirts, and dresses are so cute, they are incredibly comfortable, and they are fantastic for showing off your newly sculpted body!

SimpleSkirt in FUNKY
I recently had the opportunity to try out a SimpleSkirt myself.  I LOVE it.  I would love to have their whole line of clothing and wear them every day - yes, they really are that comfortable!  I got the "Funky" skirt.  I have to admit I was a little surprised when it first came, my computer monitor did not show off the colors accurately.  There is some bright green where I thought there would be yellow.  I assume that is a problem with my monitor.  I quickly found some tops to go with it and have worn it several times - even on a hot date with my husband (who adores the skirt).

FitnessUWear wants to help you show off your body as you get moving this winter.  They have offered to contribute a SimpleSkirt out of their current available stock to one of my readers!  I am super excited to share this prize with one of you!  The pattern chosen for the winner will depend on size needed and current stock availability.

Which skirt is your favorite?  Have you ever worn ankle or wrist weights to improve fitness?  What product do you love the most from FitnessUWear?

***Disclaimer: I have received a product or products free for the purpose of review.  All opinions are my own.***

Inspiration

Where do you find inspiration to change your habits?  Who do you look to as examples of jobs well done?  I have begun to take notice of a few people around me who are changing their lives for different reasons.  I am impressed at their ability to be consistent with what they have set out to do.  These people have seen dramatic results in their lives because they are stubborn and desperate for change.

ELIZABETH
Elizabeth is my sister.  She has MS.  A little over a year ago she decided that if she was going to tackle her disease, she needed to make changes.  She went all out on a lifestyle change, including using a primarily whole food plant based diet, and doing zumba regularly.  In less than a year she lost more than 60 pounds.  Her MS is still a problem, but she is strong and able to care for her family.  Becoming a healthier person has helped her to gain the strength she needs each day to keep going.

THAT OTHER LADY
I'm sorry.  I can't remember her name.  I know where she works and what town she lives in.  I sat by this lady at a seminar on Wednesday and as we talked, she shared that since July of this year, she has lost 23 pounds through diet change and exercise.  She is significantly older than me (old enough to have multiple grand children and 3 grown sons).  After a scare with some heart issues early in the year, she decided it was time to change.  She bikes nearly 20 miles a day through country roads (if you know what country roads are like in Indiana, you can guess there are likely a lot of hills).  She keeps track of her diet using My Fitness Pal.  I've never used this, actually, I only learned about it this week - we don't have smart phones.  This lady is doing a great job and reducing the risk of future heart difficulties!

Read about 2 more people who are inspiring me on my Win, Lose, or Blog journal.

Thank you Elizabeth, Children's Pastor Lady, Tina, and Carmen for being an inspiration in my journey toward heatlh.

Eat Smart Bathroom Scale: Review & Giveaway

It's the start of a new year.  That means new goals, a fresh start.

Did you make resolutions this year?  I am continuing to work on health and for me that means getting my body into better shape.  A big part of my health problems is related to diabetes.

I am working on some other goals too, I'll share about some of them over the coming weeks.  I'm excited about the new things this year is bringing.

Goal #1
Lose 30 pounds
That's realistic but it feels like a lot.  That is this whole child (I don't intend to lose him).

Eat Smart has offered to help by giving me this fantastic Precision Digital Scale.  I love it.  I don't have to wait for it to 0 out before I can get on, I just step on and it shows my weight (I don't love that part, I wish it would lie to me a little more).  It's sturdy, I don't worry too much about the fact that my kids love to stand on it and look at the numbers lighting up.  It's even backlit, so I can step on it in the dark and see my weight without seeing my belly even in the middle of the night!  It runs on AAA batteries, no special batteries required - and it comes with a set of 4 to start you out.

Bonus: This scale came with a tape measure.  I recently learned about how to measure myself so I can track inches lost, not just pounds!

I am charting my loss with a fitness journal blog that is nicely hidden and accessible only to a few people.  Okay, you could probably stumble on it if you hit the right button on blogspot for long enough, but you would not likely know it was me.

What else do I like about Eat Smart?  Every month they choose a cause or a foundation to donate a portion of their proceeds to!  In November they donated 100% of the proceeds to the American Diabetes Foundation and December to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Eat Smart has offered to help one of my readers as well by giving away a digital scale!  This is a fantastic prize that you don't want to miss out on!
