The truth is...

I'm intimidated by chicken.

There.  I said it.  I am all for conserving money on food, and living more green, and eating a bit more healthy... but I just can't figure out what to do with a chicken that has skin and bones.  Maybe I am just spoiled.  It just makes me want to gag when I think about it.  Ugh.

Any advice on getting over my fear of chicken with skin and bones (but no head or feathers).

The best way to get over a "whole" chicken is to bake it...
Seriously -- it's pretty awesome.. use a slight amount of seasoned salt, pepper, and if you like it, lemon pepper... you bake it at *350 until its done all the way through (use a meat thermometer if you don't know how to tell)
Baked chicken is one of my favorites... Don't be afraid of it... Try it once, you'll be surprised at how good it is!!!!! --Jessica VanDine

  2. Ugh, any uncooked meat kind of grosses me out. Especially with skin and bones! Eew. But yes, I do still cook meat around here. Haha.

  5. We don't do much with beef, sometimes a little ground beef, but that's it. I'll check out your article about chicken. Thanks
